Today were going to talk about the world of horror
games whether they are from big time video game companies or small independent
ones. One of the best things about horror video games is the Goosebumps you get
when playing the game the fact that you don’t know whats going to happen next
is like no other feeling. Having somewhat of the experience of being in a real
scary situation is quite the feeling. In these type of video games you really
get into it its like being in an actual scary movie. People chasing you and you
get that adrenaline rush that your actually going to die. I don’t really play a
lot of horror video games but I like them I think it’s a different experience
overall and whoever had the idea of a horror video game I give props to them.
Last post I talked about pc vs console games and I have noticed that a lot of
horror games are in pc I don’t know why but they are and its mostly the ones
that are not to much on action but more of the paranormal activity type games
where you have to investigate and sort of just walk around until you find
something. But the sounds of the these video games is crucial it makes the game
more intense and horrifying. A game that’s really interesting is “Among the
Sleep” which is a game of a baby yes your actually a baby in the game. It is a
horror game as well but most of all the storyline is what I think is important
and very unique as well as interesting. Let me know what you guys like and
dislike about horror video games.

When my cousins made me play Ju-on: The Grudge for Wii, I literally was terrified! Having the lights off in the room did not make it any better lol
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I love the way a horror video game makes you feel, whether or not it is made by a large of independent company. I prefer to see smaller independent companies make a fantastic game that will test time, but for that sake of the conversation, I agree that the sound effects truly make or break the attitude of the game. The player needs to be fully dumbed into the world they’re playing in.
ReplyDeleteI remember playing slender man at night with all the lights off when it came out terrifying game it is really a different experience i can agree with you guys.
