The Wii

Hey everyone tonight I want to talk about physical engaging video games in other words the Wii. Do people really like the Wii as a method to work out instead of going to the gym everyday. I mean there are games where you can have work outs and there are also games like Yoga which make you relax and I believe it has its advantages like being at home and doing it at your own time also saving you money from paying yoga classes. Another good feature they have incorporated in the Wii is the fact that you can play call of duty which resembles the video games you see in the arcades, one thing I don’t know is if it was a big thing. When they came out with the Wii U I was like seriously they just killed it why did they develop a huge device that’s basically pointless they should of though of something else to incorporate in the console. You basically have the same screen that you have on the TV. On some games you can have the map of the game but mostly you can either play with double screen or just the controller which acts like a Nintendo DS no difference at all. The playstation 3 incorporates almost the same idea expect it is a little different and only certain games can be done with the controller. Although I don’t know if they still sell it because I was trying to look for it but none of the stores seem to sell it I guess it was discontinued or something. Anyway let me know what you guys think of this technology that has been here for a while should it keep going or stop?

The SuperJoy

In todays modern age we have to buy each individual game which mostly each individual game can go for about sixty dollars a piece. The superjoy is a video game that integrates more than 100s of games in a single controller. Surprisingly the game console if you want to call it a game console at all was roughly about twenty dollars back in the days. Today they still sell it mainly for little kids that are barely going in the video game world. Probably the more responsible parents would buy this to there young child instead of buying them an advance system like the ps4 and the game call of duty of some other game and then complain about their kids spending to much time in it. What’s great about this device is that it is so simple and rather advance because of the fact that it can carry a lot of games in it such as all the Mario games, Contra and many more like pac-man and all of those old school games but I mean they were fun to play and they still are. When I had mine the only problem I had was that it just sort of a cheap material the controller was made out of the wires wouldn’t work sometimes and that would bug me because you would be so deep into the game and all of a sudden the screen goes black because of the wire and you would have to start all over. I still love old games and this would be great for young people growing up and see how the old games were.

HORROR!!

Today were going to talk about the world of horror games whether they are from big time video game companies or small independent ones. One of the best things about horror video games is the Goosebumps you get when playing the game the fact that you don’t know whats going to happen next is like no other feeling. Having somewhat of the experience of being in a real scary situation is quite the feeling. In these type of video games you really get into it its like being in an actual scary movie. People chasing you and you get that adrenaline rush that your actually going to die. I don’t really play a lot of horror video games but I like them I think it’s a different experience overall and whoever had the idea of a horror video game I give props to them. Last post I talked about pc vs console games and I have noticed that a lot of horror games are in pc I don’t know why but they are and its mostly the ones that are not to much on action but more of the paranormal activity type games where you have to investigate and sort of just walk around until you find something. But the sounds of the these video games is crucial it makes the game more intense and horrifying. A game that’s really interesting is “Among the Sleep” which is a game of a baby yes your actually a baby in the game. It is a horror game as well but most of all the storyline is what I think is important and very unique as well as interesting. Let me know what you guys like and dislike about horror video games.

Game Controllers

Ok people. Let’s talk game controllers. Over the years, there have been many different kinds of controllers. Video game system manufacturers have experimented with all kinds of shapes sizes and colors. Many got it righta lot got it wrong.

There are a lot of systems out there that not many people have heard because they were not too popular so they may not even remember the controller that came with the system. Some like Atari and the original Nintendo are classics that everyone remembers and are easy to use by people who don’t play a lot of games.

Some are shaped like guns for shooting games and some are based on old classic arcade style with a joystick and buttons. Some are modeled after the previous generation game console and some are redesigned based on customer complaints. There are clear controllers and many of your favorite colors to choosefrom. I liked the jet throttle controls for some of the flying games.

People who play PC games use a typing keyboard as the controller and hit certain letters and numbers to control certain actions.

They have evolved a lot and now your whole body is the controller. Either it is the guitar from Guitar Hero, the drum set from Rock Band, or the nunchuk and steering wheel from Nintendo Wii all are interesting new takes on control. Even more interactive is the X Box Kinect and the PlayStation Move. Built in sensors shoot out to the room and you stand at a certain distance from the sensor and it reads you movement and your whole body controls what happens on screen.

I like the Move and Kinect approach to playing games because they are fun, but nothing beats a good old hand held controller that just feels comfortable in your hand so you can play for hours. And it gives you something to throw across the room if you get mad at the game.
